An almost atrocious film version of the Stephen King short story; redeemed
only by the fact that it stars a young Linda Hamilton in her pre-Terminator
days. Story centers on two travelers who take a wrong turn on the highway
and stumble upon a mysteriously unknown town where all the adults happen to
be dead; and the kids are in charge. Worse, the children have formed their
own brand of twisted religion by worshipping a terrifying force (NOTE: The
film's unwary victims find it terrifying- but YOU, on the other hand will
most likely find it pretty laughable) that resides within the cornfield. The
kids look pretty creepy alright, but the special effects are pathetic. After
an hour or so into the movie, your patience will undoubtedly become severely
tested.
