I confess that I never played the original. For the original to become a classic, I can't imagine the controls were as bad as they are in this Game Boy version. Diagonal jumping stinks to high heaven.

This two-hits-and-you-die business is extremely frustrating. The game takes you back too far in the level to try again. I noticed that the colors change slightly when you stand still. Was that in the original?

I hope the original was better. The unlimited continues and password feature may make a difference if you want to try to tame this beast.
