Not since Beetle Adventure Racing have we reviewed a game that licenses a single brand and
develops game play around that brand so successfully. In this case, the Ferrari F355 F1 is the
object of worship.
Although the game's title is not meant to imply it, this game is incredibly challenging. Casual
players may never be able to catch up to the pros. Unlike many "elite" racing games, however,
F355 actually has four "assists" (two braking assists, plus stability and traction) that are
represented on screen at all times for you to individually toggle on and off at will.
Unlike most games, the cockpit view is great, and while friends have complained that you can't
choose another viewing angle, I was completely satisfied. For casual players like me, the
training mode is much appreciated with its red line that depicts the best driving path.
F355 Challenge is a good game, but casual players may find it too hard even with all the help.
Die-hard realist racing fans will love this game, though. For them, you can probably bump up
the score a bit.
