"A Wild Eyed Christmas Night" is 38 Special's first ever Christmas
album. Surprisingly enough I am finding out just how many groups have
always wanted to make a seasonal album this year. And yes, you can
count those wild-eyed southern boys as one of those groups. Those
of you that are diehard fans of the group will want this CD.
I am very familiar with this group's music and can see how it may
have been a challenge to come out of the studio with a better than
average album doing timeless classics that everyone hears year after
year. I have to give the nod to these rockers as they did a fine job
on all the cover tunes, and they also came up with some creative originals.
'That Old Rockin Chair' and 'A Wild-Eyed Christmas Night' are originals
by the group. 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman' is a nice acoustic instrumental
showing a side of 38 Special that is rarely revealed.
This CD was a lot of fun. Pick up this jolly and rockin' music after
turkey day and usher in old Saint Knick with some good rock and roll.
And make sure that everyone sees your Christmas eyeball ornaments.
