3 Stars out of 4

Wow! What a dramatic improvement over Cool Boarders 3! We really put the screws to the series over the years, but this year the screw heads in our direction. We couldn't be happier.

The controls and snow textures are surprisingly smooth. You can play as professional snowboarders in various modes, including Downhill, Slope Style, Half-Pipe, and Big Air, the setting for tricks galore. The game is pretty standard fare, but at least it's well done.

Cool Boarders 4 Stats:

Four players, 16 pro boarders, 9 board brands, 34 boards, board and rider customization, replay speed controls, and lots of new tricks.

Cool Boarders 3 Stats:

Two players, no pros, 3 board brands, 22 boards, no customizing, no replay controls.
