T. Swift & The Electric Bag remains one of the mysteries of
rock music to this day. They are a group of anonymous musicians that
refuse to step forward and claim this album. Although most people
considered them a cover band for the most part, some critics were
not that generous when reviewing this album.
Their sound was heavily influenced by Booker T. & The MG's,
The Ventures, and several other popular groups of the 60's.
The first side of the LP has a magnificent version of the Jimi Hendrix
rock classic "Are You Experienced," then the rest of it is take off's
on hit singles of the day. The second side proves that they are more
than just another rip off band, even though their sound is so similar
to Booker T. It takes talent to play music that sounds this good.
The entire second side is instrumental. I could appreciate the energy
and work that went into recording this entire album regardless of
their intentions or whose music they copied or emulated.
I hope that someday the people that got together to make this better
than average rock and pop record will step forward and tell the whole
story. I think it would of interest to many collectors and music lovers
alike to find out why everyone's identity remains a secret.
